Yiaway Yeh is the Google Fiber Lead for New Initiatives on the National Expansion Team. Prior to his current role, he served as Co-Chief Innovation Officer for Nashville and Davidson County Metro Government and co-headed former Nashville Mayor Karl F. Dean’s Office of Innovation. His portfolio focused on open data, supporting Nashville’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, and creating interdepartmental-community partnerships. He was also the former Mayor and a City Councilmember of Palo Alto, CA. Professionally, he has over a decade of experience in municipal operations, financial management, performance auditing, and consulting across several metropolitan regions around the country. Prior to his career in local government, Yiaway was a banker with Morgan Stanley and a Peace Corps Volunteer in Burkina Faso. He holds an MPP from Harvard's Kennedy School of Government and BA in Political Science from American University.
