Sam's been a huge part of the EC family since day one and always will be. He's had a key role in planning for some major transitions that will help us serve your needs. Sam shared his plans with us for his own future early on in the process and that's gone into our planning. The EC and Nashville's entrepreneur community have been truly lucky to have had Sam's leadership for such a long period of time. Sam's last day will be December 31st after which he will transition into an advisory role at the EC.
Please join us in sharing gratitude for his work over the years and wishing him the best in his future endeavors.
Nashville, TN, (December 6, 2016) --- Michael Brody-Waite, CEO of The Nashville Entrepreneur Center (EC), announced today that President and COO Sam Lingo will be leaving his leadership post within the organization, effective December 31, 2016.
“Sam has had a tremendous impact on the organization, team and Nashville’s entrepreneurial community since the EC opened its doors in 2010,” Mr. Brody-Waite said. “We have been lucky to have Sam for as long as we have and wish him the best in all of his future endeavors.”
Over his seven-year tenure at the EC, Lingo has helped lead the organization through its creation, transitions and growth. As the EC’s second hire, he has been an integral part of the organization’s success including the funding, design and development of its permanent home at the Trolley Barns of Rolling Mill Hill, development and implementation of programming that has reached over 450 startups, and securing strategic partnerships like Startup America, Rise of the Rest, Google and HCA. Among other impactful programs, Project Healthcare, Project Music and PreFlight were all implemented during his time with the EC.
“Sam has been a mainstay since the doors opened at the EC. We all appreciate his tireless work and dedication.” said Beth Chase, incoming Board Chair. “He has our very best wishes and eternal gratitude for all that he has done at the EC.”
Lingo will be working with the team over the coming weeks to ensure a smooth transition and moving to an advisory role in 2017. There are no immediate plans to replace him.
