The Nashville Entrepreneur Center (EC), an industry leader in the acceleration and growth of startup businesses, today announced a new sponsorship with Frazier & Deeter designed to further support startup activity in Nashville.
Burcham is one of 27 council members who will advise U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker on issues related to innovation, entrepreneurship and the development of a globally competitive workforce.The group, abbreviated NACIE, operates as an independent entity within the Office of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, which housed within the U.S. Commerce Department's Economic Development Administration.

The Arkansas Venture Center (AVC) announced today it will offer a pre-accelerator course this fall designed to help entrepreneurs and startup companies fast track their ideas to market. Backed by the Nashville Entrepreneur Center (EC), Pre-Flight is held over a 14-week period and gives participants access to proven startup methodologies alongside an established national mentor network.
Already familiar with the Nashville Entrepreneurship Center through her career as a professional artist, Llamas applied for and won a Google scholarship for a "pre-flight" entrepreneurship class held there. She said she actually had her youngest baby while enrolled in the course. But she said the class made it possible for her to launch her business since she had no prior knowledge or experience in the field.
A national ranking named Nashville as the fifth best city in the nation to start a new business.The survey was released by Nerd Wallet Finance, which looked at several factors when determining where cities placed on the ranking. Available funding, human capital, the local economy, business-friendliness, and affordability were all analyzed by the organization.
