At the EC, we know the most successful and effective team is a diverse team. Establishing an inclusive environment where people from all backgrounds and experiences have an opportunity to create, launch and grow a business is what we continually strive for. We believe collaboration is the most effective way to have a meaningful impact on establishing and building an inclusive culture. To see meaningful results, this effort will take participation and engagement from local non-profits, corporations, higher-education institutions, community leaders and investors.

Awarded to founders who identify as women
Awarded to an entrepreneur who has served in the military
Founder of color
Awarded to an entrepreneur who is a member of one of the following minority groups: American Indian or Alaska Native, Asian, Black or African American, Hispanic or LatinX, Pacific Islander
*previously called “minority founder”
Awarded to an entrepreneur who is currently enrolled in post-secondary education
LGBTQIA+ Founder (In partnership with the Nashville LGBT Chamber of Commerce):
Awarded to an entrepreneur who identifies as LGBTQIA+
Awarded to founders born outside of the United States. Particularly founders who represent some of Nashville’s larger immigrant populations, including people who have emigrated from: Mexico, Central America, the Middle East, Africa and Asia.
