NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The “Unconference,” a partnership between the law firm of Nelson Mullins and the Nashville EC, will hold a Capital Unconference on Tuesday, Oct. 8, during which entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to pitch their ideas to potential investors. In advance of the event, companies have been matched with potential investors based on criteria including capital sought and investment area.
“We have a great partnership between the EC and Nelson Mullins,” said Jason Epstein, founder of the Unconference and partner at Nelson Mullins in the Nashville office. The participants are both national and local, and it’s our way to contribute to Nashville as leaders in a growing market.”
Throughout the day, the entrepreneurs will sit down with investors for up to 10 meetings. They will have 30 minutes to explain why their idea is a worthy investment. The potential investors – a collection of institutional and individual venture capitalists, private equity firms, investment bankers, and corporate strategic funds – will then have the option to invest or decline.
“Nashville is a thriving community for startups and entrepreneurs,” said Michael Burcham, CEO of the Nashville Entrepreneur Center. “We are excited to work with Nelson Mullins to host an “Unconference” bringing investors and entrepreneurs from across the country to Nashville.”
The “Unconference” will conclude with a networking happy hour, where entrepreneurs will have an additional opportunity to build strategic relationships with people who can help launch their businesses to the next level.
