Lyft is Coming To Nashville and 7 Other Startups On The Radar

This is a brief overview of snippets of general startup news that is too short to have its own article but too important to let slide. Last night the EC held a Fall Festival in honor of Global Entrepreneurship Week and I attended purely for the food and startup gossip. Here’s what I found out:

Things I Didn’t Even Know About:

1. Lyft is coming to Nashville. Unconfirmed sources are telling me Lyft is coming. I often hear great things about the ride sharing app and frankly Nashville needs a cab alternative. I don’t know when they will be in Nashville officially but I’m hoping it’s soon.

2.Waffle has a new embed feature. More on this soon. I need to sit down with the Co-Founder Wesley Belden and catch up on all the cool stuff he is doing with social brands. Oh yeh, he was at the EC’s Fall Festival last night making Waffles for everyone.

3. My Tip Jar is an app that helps musicians get paid to play. Lots of times we wish we could tip a musician. We all appreciate great music here in Music City and we understand the hard work that singer/songwriters put into their day. Most of the time though, we don’t actually carry cash. My Tip Jar allows you to easily tip artists you really like and sometimes you get small rewards for tipping them.
