Google to have tech hub at Nashville’s Entrepreneur Center

Tech giant Google Inc. is establishing a presence in seven North American cities and has chosen Nashville’s Entrepreneur Center as part of its new network of tech hubs.

As part of the partnership, a “Googler” will be working with the Nashville Entrepreneur Center, sharing best practices with the center’s leaders and connecting startup companies to mentors and resources at Google offices and to the six other tech hubs: 1871 in Chicago, CoCo in Minneapolis; The American Underground in Durham, N.C.; Galvanize in Denver; Communitech in Waterloo, Ontario; and Grand Circus in Detroit.

“It’s an enormous validation that the work we are doing here matters a lot nationally … and that we are making significant progress and really creating a significant startup community,” said Entrepreneur Center CEOMichael Burcham, who is traveling to Chicago today for Google’s kickoff event.
