Ten Tennessee Companies Selected to Pitch to Steve Case for $100,000 Investment

The Nashville Entrepreneur Center Announces the Ten Companies to Pitch to AOL Founder, Steve Case when the Rise of the Rest Road Trip Comes to Nashville Friday, June 27, 2014

Steve Case, Co-Founder of AOL and the CEO of Revolution, will begin the four-day “Rise of the Rest” Road Trip through the heart of America in partnerhsip with UP Global, starting Tuesday, June 24. The tour bus will stop in four key cities to highlight the rising entrepreneurial spirit and thriving startup communities. The four stops are Detroit, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, and Nashville.

In each city, ten companies will pitch their stories to Steve Case and a select group of judges. One company in each city will be selected for a $100,000 investment from Steve Case. The Pitch Competition in Nashville will be held at The Nashville Entrepreneur Center at 3:00 p.m., Friday, June 27.

All ten of the companies are from Tennessee, and nine of them are from Nashville. AudiencePoint is based in Chattanooga.

Companies selected to pitch in Nashville:

  • Initial State – Helps engineers capture and understand the rapidly increasing amount of data generated by smart products and applications.

  • AudiencePoint – Aggregates data from email and social media to calculate the best times to interact with your subscribers and followers at an individual level.

  • WannaDo – Helps you find the events around your city that you will want to go to.

  • Artiphon – A musical device that allows users to extend the use of iOS apps off the screen and become truly mobile musicians.

  • Everly – Healthy drink packets made of natural ingredients to power adventurous people and save lives through hydration.

  • iQuantifi – A virtual financial advisor that helps millennials and young families move toward their financial goals.

  • Solar Site Design – a cloud-based lead generation and project management platform reducing soft-costs for the solar industry.

  • Checkd.in – helps big brands understand the data around their marketing to improve results.

  • Utilize Health – A technology platform that connects patients to the right healthcare providers, speeding up recovery time.

  • Sagents – Helps buyers and suppliers manage sales and purchasing opportunities through easy-to-use supply chain analytics.
