An Intern Experience | Bryce Johnson

Interning at the Entrepreneur Center was one of the largest learning experiences of my life. I came into the process timid and unsure, but left knowing how to handle any new situation. If I had to summarize what I learned at the EC, it would be: Stay aware; Stay Active; Stay involved.
Stay aware. Always know what is going on around you because you never know who might approach you or if anything would grab your interests. Being attentive helps your organization too. By noticing ways to improve, you set up everyone for success.
Stay active. There is always something to do. If you finished your task, look around for people who may need help or other projects that need addressing. Most people appreciate an extra hand, and it is a great way to meet people and learn new things.
Stay involved. Talk to the people around you. Knowing the people you work for and work with allows the organization to function as a team and could create bonds that can last a lifetime. Inspiration is contagious fuel, and spreads by learning who people are beyond their name.
Lastly, I learned not to be afraid. Don’t be afraid to dive in, because we can all do great things despite our age. Don’t be afraid to open up to the people around you, because they may just provide you with more than you could ever ask for.
I came to the EC expecting to learn a little about business.I never thought I would learn this much about life.
