Nashville’s tech and entrepreneurial communities joined forces virtually on Tuesday to celebrate the creators in the Data/Tech/AI world with Pitch for Good: Data/Analytics/AI Edition.

Six outstanding entrepreneurs were given one minute to “elevator pitch” their businesses to a panel of over 120 audience members and four professional judges, including Hilary Mason, Data Scientist in Residence at Accel Partners.

“It’s never been a better time to be an entrepreneur. Entrepreneurs are problem-solvers, and we have more than a few challenges ahead of us,” said EC CEO Jane Allen.

This edition of Pitch for Good was hosted in partnership with the Nashville Tech Council, as part of their 2020 Analytics Summit, providing the perfect platform for entrepreneurs to showcase how they are using data and analytics to make their communities better.

“I’m right there with the entrepreneurs who pitched today,” said Mason, who has been developing tech businesses herself for the last 15 years, and was featured as the keynote speaker of the summit.

The contestants were selected by an independent panel of judges who narrowed submissions down to only six founders based in Tennessee (or who are members of an EC program), with awards granted by the on-air judges:

  • Hilary Mason – Data Scientist in Residence at Accel Partners

  • Daniel Rumley – Sales Development Manager – Americas OEM at Dell Technologies

  • Brian Fox – VP of Strategic Partnerships at Thomson Reuters and President and Founder of Confirmation

  • Anthony Egbuniwe – Data Scientist and Director of Global Partnerships at Microsoft

As in prior Pitch for Good events, the winners from each category and a crowd favorite vote received financial grants for their businesses. These entrepreneurs walked away with financial grants:

  • Amanda Latifi – HaftaHave

  • Mock Abdelaal – Velos Labs

  • Michael Sentz – CaringWire (Crowd Favorite)

We are proud to have partnered with the Nashville Tech Council’s 2020 Analytics Summit to bring you this edition of Pitch For Good. This event is made possible by Dell Technologies, LaunchTN and the Kauffman Foundation, and marks the fourth monthly Pitch for Good event hosted by the EC.
