Sarah Tortorella Brings Back Local, Safe and Reliable Qualities to Your Childcare Needs
July 28, 2016 / Share:
Sarah Tortorella, CEO of Sitting Made Simple Nashville, used her previous experience to establish a franchise based off her college job at Sitting Made Simple. Using the skills she gained working as a babysitter, she created a way for families to find excellent child care services, pet sitting, tutoring and many other needs. Sarah created her franchise shortly after graduating in 2015 and has been in business ever since. The EC is proud to feature Sarah in this week’s member spotlight, who has been a member since November 2015.
Describe yourself in one word:
“Independent”
Why are you interested in entrepreneurship?
“I want to be responsible for creating something from the ground up and bring an exciting concept to life! Seeing the growth of an idea week by week excites me and keeps me motivated.”
If you could meet any entrepreneur, who would it be?
“Sophia Amoruso”
What is your favorite aspect of the EC?
“I love the open environment and supportive members always encouraging others in their endeavors.”
What advice would you give someone seeking to create, launch, or grow a business?
“Some weeks will be good and some will be bad. You have to push through those weeks where you are not seeing immediate results and keep pushing forward doing what you love. The results will come- be patient and keep hustling!”
How do you balance the entrepreneurial lifestyle?
“Being an entrepreneur is not a 9-5 lifestyle. Some days start at 7 a.m. and some end at 10 p.m. I always try and find time in the mornings to workout no matter how early I have to wake up. This has been a huge help for me- it allows me to clear my head and give me some ‘me’ time before the day starts.”
