Story 3: EC Staff Highlights, Startup Day and Looking Forward in Nashville

Last week’s show “Tennessee Diversity, Support and Women in Entrepreneurship” highlighted entrepreneurs from all over the region, so THIS week’s story I’m highlighting our own team here to keep you up to date with the momentum the EC staff is making.

This story includes:

  1. Happy #StartupDay! This day occurred June 19th as a way to celebrate startups from around the state. 
  2. Heather McBee is promoted as our new Program Director for our year round Project Music Vertical.
  3. Heather shared her first day with Julia Polk, who was also recently hired. She is our Chief Program Officer and will be adding value to alumni companies and connecting EC rescues to those we serve. 
  4. Sarah Lacy and Heather McBee shared entrepreneurial hacks at PandoLand during their joint session.
  5. Stuart McWhorter is more than 2/3rd’s the way through his first 90 days as the EC CEO. He has been interviewed by NPR’s Emily Siner regarding The Future of Nashville Tech Is Not Just In Healthcare, among others. In the interview below, he shares his thoughts on his time thus far.
