Seeing a need for more support of Nashville’s burgeoning entrepreneurial community, Vic Gatto founded Jumpstart Foundry (JSF) in 2009. As a micro-VC fund, JSF provides a small amount of capital combined with growth and talent support to help high-growth, innovative companies achieve success. Since its founding, Jumpstart Foundry has graduated 49 companies who have collectively raised more than $35 million in follow-on funding.
Before starting Jumpstart Foundry, Vic served as a Partner at Solidus Company, focusing his investment activity primarily in three industries: healthcare services, applied technology, and data monetization. Prior to joining Solidus, he worked for five years in a similar capacity with another venture capital firm: Massey Burch Capital Corp.
In the 1990s, before switching to the investor side of the table, Vic co-founded and subsequently sold a software company.
Vic lives in Nashville with his wife and two sons. He has a graduate degree from Vanderbilt’s Owen School of Management and a BA from Amherst College. Vic is a member of the Nashville Healthcare Council’s Fellow program. He is also on the board of directors of the Nashville Entrepreneur Center, and Harding Academy.
