Fall Accelerator Applications Now Open

Nashville, TN, (June 14, 2016) ­- The Nashville Entrepreneur Center (EC) and HCA (NYSE:HCA) have joined forces to extend the reach of the EC’s Project Healthcare initiative (previously announced 2/2/16). Project Healthcare is the EC’s leading action to drive transformation in the healthcare industry. This expanded relationship between the EC and HCA is a vital piece in getting the greater healthcare industry involved as mentors, sponsors and investors.

“Nashville is home to a growing and dynamic healthcare industry, and we believe that Project Healthcare will play a significant role in the continuing development of local health and technology entrepreneurship,” said Milton Johnson, HCA’s chairman and CEO. “HCA is pleased to support this important Entrepreneur Center initiative, and we encourage others to engage with Project Healthcare as a collaborative initiative to grow and support Nashville’s healthcare industry.”

Additionally, applications for the initiative’s Project Healthcare 2016 Accelerator to run this Fall are now open at www.projecthealthcare.co. The program is open to early stage tech startups catering to the patient, payer, provider/practitioner and hospital system ecosystem. Through the accelerator program, startups are provided curriculum and mentorship alongside an immersion in the city’s $38.8 Billion healthcare industry. Participants will receive funding in exchange for equity and participate in the Village Capital peer selection investment model to evaluate, rank and provide feedback on each other’s companies to facilitate the peer selection of two startups to receive additional investment. Applications close July 7, 2016.
