Nashville Entrepreneur Center 2021-22 Project Healthcare Cohort Members

Project Healthcare returns, introducing prominent cohort members with annual revenues higher than ever before
Nashville, Tenn. (August 12, 2021) – The Nashville Entrepreneur Center has announced the 2021-2022 cohort for Project Healthcare, Nashville’s leading healthcare entrepreneurship initiative that drives transformation in the industry through tailored programming and critical connections. Hailing from all across the country, this year’s participating entrepreneurs will have access to a comprehensive curriculum that includes meetings with more than 70 industry expert mentors, connections to potential investors, and the opportunity to engage with other healthcare business leaders.
Despite incredible challenges from the pandemic, this year’s cohort has over three times the revenue and almost twice the amount of capital raised from the previous cohort. The Nashville Entrepreneur Center has also recently launched its new Telehealth Academy, an eight-week program designed for industry professionals and early-stage innovators who are interested in garnering insights from top faculty addressing telehealth, virtual care and digital strategies.

Nashville is home to more than 500 healthcare companies that generate $92 billion in revenue each year. Project Healthcare members have a significant growth potential in the city and have the opportunity to make a major impact on Nashville’s healthcare landscape. Nashville is becoming the healthcare’s largest and fastest-growing employer with an overall economic benefit of more than $46.7 billion and 270,000 jobs annually.

This year’s 14 cohort members, which include three returning teams, represent the breadth and depth of the entire healthcare industry. And one participant, Darvis–an innovative tech company that creates AI technology to automate procedures in health care settings–recently relocated its headquarters from San Francisco to Nashville.
This year’s cohort will kick-off this week and includes:
Darvis| Jan Schlueter – Darvis is a service platform that uses AI and translates computer vision into valuable data analytics to provide contextual insights into objects of interest.
GeneXsure | Smita Rao – GeneXsure offers genetic counseling and testing service where patients/clients are seen over Telehealth to facilitate appropriate family-history-based risk assessment and genetic testing in order to empower individuals to take control of their genetic health.
Health Haven Rx | Yinka Ojutalayo – HHRx is a white label digital pharmacy licensed to deliver medications across the U.S. Health Haven provides price transparency and improves access to affordable medications by leveraging their API.
HealthWise Data | Annie Smith – HealthWise Data is a data and analytics company that provides Social Determinants of Health (SDOH), Predictions on Health & Wellness, Proprietary Segmentation Systems, and Caregiver Audiences on their comprehensive database of 246M US adults.
Kwema | Ali Al-Jabry – Kwema is the OnStar meets EZ-Pass for employee safety using wearables to reduce reaction time when an employee is at risk saving companies 100s of thousands of dollars yearly.
Life Filez | Beth Krauklis – The LifeFilez Health passport creates a seamless ecosystem for communicating the health status of all individuals during a pandemic event.
Rare Disease Data Trust | David Connor – Compliantly connecting healthcare stakeholders to end the rare disease diagnostic odyssey and accelerate the marketplace, for the benefit of the patient.
Rovicare | Pankaj Likhmania – Rovicare is a cloud-based software solution to bridge the gap across the patient care continuum and increase care transparency through improved communication, creating better patient outcomes, while reducing healthcare expenses.
ScaleMed | Dr. Tal Rapke – ScalaMed has re-invented prescriptions, enabling them to be made smart (price comparisons, warnings, education, and clinical check-ins), and sent directly to any patient’s phone prior to pharmacy selection, where patients take ownership over their prescriptions inside any App that licenses ScalaMed’s APIs.
Scope Security | Mike Murray – Scope Security is a managed detection and response solution purpose built for healthcare to stop ransomware and data breaches at hospitals.
SOAP | Steven Charlap, MD, MBA – With over 12,000,000 diagnostic errors made each year costing $750 billion, SOAP’s mission is to apply AI to increase accurate and comprehensive patient data collection, risk assessment, and clinical documentation to improve early disease risk detection and point of care diagnosis, while improving physician productivity and revenue.
